Explore and develop your understanding of playing, designing and building games. You will learn what games are, what makes them fun and how to build them using Adobe® Flash® Professional CC and Adobe Brackets. Each week the course will build upon a specific element of games design and introduce a small amount of coding. We will meet professionals from the Games Design industry and find out more about their route into the industry and how they work now.

Creator and Developer
Brad is the creator and developer of the Fancy Pants Adventures series of games and the 2D Flash version of Mirrors Edge licensed by EA.
Greg has designed everything from web-based MMOs, to hit casual games, to alternate reality games. Prior to starting Gigantic Mechanic, he was the Creative Director at Gamestar Mechanic and before that, Senior Game Designer at Gamelab. Greg created and directs the Come Out & Play festival of street games.
Luke is the Creative Director and founder of State of Play games. He has created games for MTV, Miniclip, the BBC, ESPN and Mind Candy, among others. His Headspin Storybook game was one of Apple's Best iPad Apps of 2010 and he has also created animations for Oxfam, Christian Aid, the BBC and MacMillan.
Dr Moses Wolfenstein
Moses is the creative director of Ronin Studios & Consulting. He is a researcher in digital media and online learning and his studies include sociocultural learning systems around video games, and the design and development of digital media across and between the practices of learning and play
Colleen Macklin is a game designer, and Associate Professor in the school of Art, Media and Technology at Parsons The New School for Design and Director of PETLab (Prototyping Education and Technology Lab). This is a lab focused on developing games for experimental learning and social engagement. Colleen is a member of the game design collective Local No. 12, best known for their collectible card game, the Metagame and The Leisure Society.
The course will mainly be focused on Adobe Flash Professional CC . The course tutor will advise when the following tools will be used during the course:

A trial or fully licensed membership to Adobe Creative Cloud will be needed to partake in this course. If you currently don’t have a membership it is recommended that you consider downloading a 30-day free trial of the products needed for the course. It is advised that the 30-day free trial is downloaded as close to the course start date as possible.
Trial versions can be converted to complete or single-app membership via the Adobe Creative Cloud website. After you purchase membership, the desktop product trial will automatically convert into the licensed version, so you can carry on working.
